Provident Fund
Its purpose is to provide employees with lump sum payments at the time of exit from their place of employment. This differs from pension funds, which have elements of both lump sum as well as monthly pension payments.
Occupational Pension Scheme
An occupational pension scheme is a fund set-up for the employer to provide contributions that are set aside to provide an income in retirement for the employee. Gratuity Scheme

Share-option schemes are typically used as an incentive for employees giving them the right to buy the company’s shares on predefined terms dependant on the company’s financial performance.
Preservation Fund
This is a specific fund designed to hold the accumulated benefits from an occupational employee pension scheme where the employee has left employment and no longer qualifies to be a member of that scheme.
